United Airlines is offering 10,000 free Mileage Plus miles to anyone who graduated from college within the last 12 months. You have to sign up for their college program, which is free, then send in a copy of your transcripts to claim the miles. If you aren't already a member of Mileage Plus, you can join, just to claim your free miles.
A ultra conservative estimate of the value of a frequent flyer mile would be one cent, so you can look at this as a gift from Uncle United worth at least $100, not bad, probably not the worst graduation gift you will get this year.
